Swedish government wants night trains to European capitals

1:07 min

The government is expected this week to formally ask Sweden's transport administration to look into whether night trains to European cities could be a possibility, something it promised in the Spring budget.

"The Swedish Transport Administration will look at the available night trains in the rest of Europe and determine what routes are interesting," said Lennart Kalander, head of national planning at the administration.

The Swedish Transport Administration and the government agency, Traffic Analysis, will present their findings on the 30th April 2020.
