More Swedish rubbish should be recycled says industry

3:18 min

People in Sweden throw away on average close to 500 kilos of rubbish a year, but over half of this can be recycled.

People are throwing away paper and plastics in their compost, and this, according to communications manager Anna-Carin Gripwall from the Swedish Waste Management Association, is down to convenience.

The association's goal is to increase recycling, especially when it comes to electronic items like mobile phones, instead of sending things to an incinerator.
