Volvo Cars says it is now evaluating the risks that may arise in the mining of rare earth metals in order to ensure that it lives up to its own standards.

Andreas Andersson, is a so-called attribute leader at Volvo Cars. Simply put, it's his job to make sure that the car Volvo produces live up to the legal and environmental requirements regarding materials that Volvo Cars has set up and which clearly specify that metals used by Volvo Cars must not be extracted in a way that damages the environment.

Swedish Radio asked him what responsibility Volvo Cars has for how these metals are mined.
