Light skinned princesses are the norm, study finds

When girls aged 8-15 were asked to draw their ideal princess in India, Fiji and Sweden, they all drew a similar picture: princesses with blonde hair and light skin.

Charu Uppal, a former lecturer in media and communication at Karlstad University, who conducted the study, says the main problem is the lack of regional programmes in respective home countries and the import of programmes from other countries. However, she tells Swedish Radio that there is one ideal solution to the problem.
