Persson: No New EU Budget This Year

Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson says he doesn’t believe the European Union countries can agree on a new budget before the end of the year.

Persson was speaking to journalists after making a speech in Stockholm Wednesday afternoon.

He says the doesn’t think the new EU members should be compensated for any loses because a new system has not yet been adopted.
