Daniel Kindberg, former chairman of Östersunds FK, was found guilty on Tuesday of funneling millions of taxpayer money into his football club.

Kindberg and two others were accused of setting up a complex scheme to divert cash from a municipal housing company and a construction company to finance the club's rise to the top of Swedish football.

Kindberg has said he is innocent and is appealing the verdict.
