Sweden's National Police Commissioner hinted at new measures to combat the use of bombs by criminals, but also called on society at-large to help.

Anders Thornberg said on Wednesday that the police are taking new measures to combat the recent increase in the use of explosives by criminal gangs.

However he stressed that it is an "extremely complex challenge" for the authorities. Thornberg called for more police officers and changes in the law to give police greater powers. He also called on society in general to act.
