Sweden to start clinical trials of ultrasound treatment for prostate cancer

Men with prostate cancer in Sweden may soon be able to get treated with a new technique using high-intensity ultrasound.

Uppsala University hospital will start clinical trials in February and follow the health of patients who receive the treatment for several years.

The new procedure, which has been available for some time in other European countries, uses a focused, high-intensity ultrasound that burn away aggressive tumours.
