Ann Linde: Trump peace plan does not meet Sweden's demands

US President Donald Trump's Middle East peace plan does not meet Sweden's expectations. Neither does it meet the requirements set by the EU or by international law, says Sweden's foreign minister.

The one positive aspect of the peace plan, Linde told Swedish Radio, is that it involves a move towards a two-state solution and in the best of worlds, she added, it can mark the start of resumed negotiations and a new peace process.

However, Linde emphasised that President Trump's peace plan falls short on meeting international requirements.

"This proposal really doesn't live up to what we believe should be included in this kind of solution," Linde said.
