Protest Against Covert CIA Flights

Council Of Europe Opens Probe Into CIA Prisoner Flights

The Council of Europe has announced the opening of a probe into reports of planes used by the US Spy agency CIA to transport suspected terrorists transiting via European airports.

The planes have been spotted at airports in Sweden, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, and Spain as well as Morocco, raising questions whether they’re being used to convey suspects subjected to extra-judicial detention and torture.

The pan-European human rights body’s parliamentary assembly is already investigating reports of secret prisons for some of the CIA’s most important Al-Qaeda captives at secret sites in member states which surfaced in the Washington Post earlier this month.
