UN Network Holds First Meeting

Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson hosted the first meeting Tuesday of a network established to help reform the United Nations.

The group of 13 countries was set up at the UN summit chaired by Persson in September. Its task is to work for critical reforms for the world body.

After the meeting, UN Deputy Secretary General Louise Frechette said her boss, Kofi Annan, is very grateful for the efforts to add momentum to the ongoing reform process.
