Peace Laurate Calls for American Guarantees to Iran
Nobel Peace Prize winner Mohammed ElBaradei says he thinks the United States will have to give Iran a security guarantee before a final agreement can be reached regarding the country’s atomic program.
After a meeting with Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson Monday the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency said the U.S. will have to get more involved in the negotiations between Iran and the European Union. ElBaradai and the IAEA were joint recipients of the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo Saturday.
On Tuesday the peace laureate is participating in a panel discussion with university students in Uppsala, north of Stockholm.
