Latvia Rejects Swedish Drug Rehab Center

Latvia has rejected a Swedish plan to set up a drug rehabilitation center there.
Swedish authorities had proposed setting up a center for both Swedish and Latvian drug addicts, because lower salaries on the other side of the Baltic would keep costs down. But local opinion in Latvia has turned against the idea.
According to a supporter on the Riga City Council, the media and local politicians flamed fears the center would be a ”hotbed of evil”.
