Positive Economic Indicators

There are more indicators that the Swedish economy is improving.

Statistics Sweden reports that household wealth here has once again reached the level it was at in March 2000, when the stock market fall began.

According to a new report from the Swedish Research Institute of Trade, growing household consumption has led to a 2.9 percent increase in Sweden’s Gross National Product this year. Noting that private purchasing hasn’t been so strong since the IT bubble collapsed, the institute forecasts that next year the GNP will rise by 3.1 percent.

On Wednesday the National Institute of Economic Research raised its Swedish growth forecast for next year to 3.6 percent,
