Thursday Weather: Blizzard in Southern Sweden

A storm that dumped heavy snow in central Europe moved in over southern Scandinavia early Thursday, causing traffic delays and power outages.

Road and railway traffic was interrupted in eastern Denmark and southern Sweden.

Sturup airport outside Malmö closed for several hours because of snow on the runways, and power was cut off to about 4,000 people in southern Sweden.

The storm is moving north, weakening as it goes.
