Swedes Back Smoking Ban

A survey by the Swedish National Institute of Public Health shows that Swedes think a smoking ban in restaurants was a good idea. 90% are positive about the ban that took effect in June last year.

Among smokers, 70% agree the ban was a good idea. According to the study 80% of respondents say they have not changed their eating out habits. 10% say they are going out more. Only 5% of those asked say they go out less.

A wave of smoking bans has been sweeping across Europe. A ban has just gone into effect in the Czech Republic, one is currently being considered in the UK and Finland’s Social Health Department is even mulling over putting restrictions on smoking on balconies.
