Sweden Observers Remain in Hebron

The Swedish government has decided to continue participation in the civilian observer mission in the West Bank city of Hebron.

Sweden has taken part in the Temporary International Presence in Hebron since 1997. Besides Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Switzerland, and Turkey have contributed to the mission.

There are around 500 Jewish settlers living among the more than 100,000 Palestinian inhabitants of Hebron, where according to tradition, the Prophet Abraham is buried.
