Tickets for the last World Cup

Record Interest in World Cup Tickets

Swedish soccer fans have applied for a national record 304,000 tickets to this year’s World Cup matches in Germany.

The Swedish Football Association says the most popular match is against Paraguay on June 15, with applications topping 98,000 tickets. Supporters have also applied for more than 85,000 tickets for the June 20th match with England, managed by Swede Sven-Göran Eriksson.

Sweden has only been awarded around three to five thousand tickets for each match. But the Swedish Football Association says it has received a promise for more tickets from soccer’s world governing body FIFA.
