Internet Sales Increase By One-Third

The Swedish Research Institute of Trade reports that shopping over the Internet showed continued strong growth during the last four months of 2005.

Online sales were 34 percent higher than during the same period the year before. On the other hand, Internet commerce is still small compared to traditional channels, now accounting for 2.1 percent of the total market here.

But online retailers are optimistic about the future, with 87 percent predicting that sales will continue to increase this year.
