Double Gold: First Since 1994

Sweden won both the men’s and the women’s cross-country skiing team sprints at the Winter Olympics on Tuesday.

In the women’s event, Canada took silver, six tenths of a second behind the Swedes, and Finland won the bronze. It was Sweden’s first Winter Olympics gold since 1994 in Lillehammar.

A few minutes later the Swedish men beat Norway and Russia to this country’s second gold medal in Turin.
