"Voice of Conscience" on Kosovo Future

Serbia-Montenegro’s visiting foreign minister called on Sweden Tuesday to contribute what he called “a voice of conscience” when talks on the final status of Kosovo start later this month.

Vuk Draskovic met his Swedish counterpart Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds in Stockholm Tuesday. The talks on Kosovo’s future will be mediated by Finland’s former president Martti Ahtisaari. The Swedish and Serbian foreign ministers also discussed the referendum on independence for Montenegro, expected to be held in April.

In Belgrade Tuesday, Swedish Migration Minister Barbro Holmberg helped inaugurate a Swedish-funded repatriation center for thousands of asylum-seekers returning to Serbia-Montenegro.
