No CIA activity say Nordics

After reports last Autumn of CIA planes and prisoner transport in Europe, the Nordic countries have made it official that, to their knowledge, no CIA activities occurred in the region.

But critics believe that the governments have not investigated the matter fully. Tuesday was the final day for reporting to the European Council, which had requested information from European states.

Reports on suspected CIA planes came mostly from Iceland and Denmark. But in Sweden too there were three instances of suspected CIA landings. According to the Swedish report to the European Council the government could not conclude whether or not any of these planes were used by the CIA or the United States.
