State Liquor Chain CEO’s Contract Reviewed

Published onsdag 15 mars 2006 kl 10.47

The board of Sweden’s liquor retail monopoly, Systembolaget, is to review the pension agreement for the chain’s CEO, Anitra Steen.

The move follows a complaint from the opposition Conservative Moderate party that the contract violates state guidelines.

Chairman of the Board Olof Johansson, a former leader of the opposition Center Party, said Tuesday Anitra Steen’s original agreement was from before the guidelines were adopted, and that she voluntarily agreed to a renegotiation with a 30 percent cut in salary.

Anitra Steen is married to Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson, who has refused to comment on the issue.
