Sweden In With Ice Hockey Gold Chance

In Ice Hockey, Sweden , the Olympic Champions, secured top spot in Group B at the World Championships in Riga after a 4-4 tie with Switzerland on Wednesday night.

Henrik Zetterberg of the Detroit Red Wings scored twice for Sweden, who are attempting to become the first nation to win Olympic and World titles in the same year.

The game was suspended for almost an hour midway through the second period after a gaping hole opened up in the ice in front of Sweden’s bench.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia Flyers center Peter Forsberg, who helped Sweden to Gold in Turin, will be off the ice until January after surgery on both feet.
