Thousands Of Swedes Set Off For Football Festival

Thousands of Swedes are preparing to set off for Germany in the next 24 hours as the biggest sporting event of the year, the 2006 Football World Cup kicks off in Munich early Friday evening with hosts Germany meeting Costa Rica in Group A.

Sweden have picked up an injury ahead of their opener on Saturday. Goakeeper Andreas Isaksson will miss the game with Trinidad and Tobago in Dortmund because of a mild concussion.

Isaksson was hit in the face by midfielder Kim Kallstrom’s hard shot during training on Wednesday.
