H&M Posts Above Expectations

Swedish fashion retailer Hennes and Mauritz has posted second quarter results above market forecasts.

Pre-tax profits for the period were more than 530 million dollars.

H&M says it is opening a new chain of stores for both women and men, aimed at a higher price segment of the market. The company also plans a move into China next year, and has signed contracts for stores in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
