Suspected prostitute with HIV released from remand

A woman with HIV who police believe has sold sex to several hundred men in Sweden’s second city, Gothenburg, has now been freed from prison.

She was being held on suspicion of prostitution and attempted assault.

Prosectutors say it wouldn’t be possible to prove any crime.

It is now suspected she has been given asylum in Sweden under a false name and she could now be deported.

Meanwhile a second prostitute in the city has now tested positive for HIV and customers of either woman are being urged to come forward for checks.
