Saab records huge rise in profits

The Swedish aerospace and defence company says its profit for the second quarter of this year soared by 82 per cent.

The 40 million US dollars net profit is being mainly put down to a large order for a surveillance aircraft system to Pakistan.

The company’s growth forecast has remained unchanged at nearly 10 per cent, for the whole of 2006.
