Swedish Murderer Charged with Bosnia War Crimes

A convicted Swedish murderer has been charged with war crimes in Bosnia, where he fought as a mercenary in the 1990’s.

Jackie Arklöv is currently serving a life sentence here for killing two Swedish police officers in 1999. He has been now charged with abusing and torturing prisoners during the Balkan wars, where he served in the Bosnian-Croat army.

In 1995 he was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment by a Bosnian court, but after a year he was transferred to Sweden, where the authorities released him for lack of evidence.
