Henrik Larsson Retires from International Soccer

Swedish football star Henrik Larsson announced Monday he is retiring from his international career.

The former Barcelona and Celtic striker has earned 93 caps and scored 36 goals since his debut in the national team in 1993. His final goal for Sweden was in the 2-2 draw against England in the group state of the World Cup.

Monday also marked Larsson’s return to his home town club Helsingborg after 13 years abroad. Unfortunately the homecoming was marred by a 3-1 loss to the Gothenburg side Häcken.
