New guidelines to help police investigate illegal hunting

Officers are being given a handbook to try to bring more offenders to court.

Their main problem is that when a wolf or a bear suddenly disappears, they can not find the scene of the crime to look for clues. And when they do find an animal that has been shot, it is hard to investigate whether it was in self-defence or not.

With predatory animals moving further and further south in Sweden, there are calls for police officers across the country to be given more guidance on illegal hunting.
