Pork Protest

The association of Swedish pork producers says they plan to empty southern Sweden of pigs, to protest the low prices they are offered by butchers and grocery stores.

The organization says pig farmers in the provinces of Skåne, Halland, Västergötland and Östergötland plan to sell all their meat to Germany. This, they say, will make it difficult for Swedish consumers to buy Swedish pork.

It’s unclear why Swedes won’t just buy German or Danish pork at their grocery stores instead.
