Women Earn 92 Percent as Much as Men

According to a new report from Statistics Sweden, women here earn on the average 92 percent of the salaries paid to men of comparable age, education, and work sector.

The disparity is basically the same as it was in 1992, when statistics comparing men and women’s salaries first started to be compiled.

The differences increase with age. While women born in 1980’s earn 94 percent of the salaries of comparable men, for women born in the 1940’s the figure is just 81 percent.
