Bus Cellphone Ban to Be Lifted

The current ban on using cellphones in some parts of Stockholm’s buses and subway trains is going to be short-lived.

Stockholm Transport introduced the mobile phone-free zones at the end of August, to reduce the irritation of intruding conversations by fellow passengers.

Now the new center-right majority in the Stockholm country council says the ban will be removed as soon as they take over on November 1st. A Liberal Party councillor says the ban seemed rather silly.

Local public transportation is run by the counties here in Sweden.
