Com Hem Leaves Home

U.S. private-equity firms Carlyle Group and Providence Equity Partners have agreed to buy Sweden’s Com hem, a provider of cable-television; telephone; broadband and Internet services.

While the value of the deal wasn’t disclosed, The Wall Street Journal reports the price to be about US$1.2 billion. Com hem, is Sweden’s largest cable-television provider in terms of subscribers.

According to reports, the new owners intend to sell Com hem in turn, for a profit.
