Increasing Broadband Access

According to a new report from the Swedish National Post and Telecom Agency (PTS), more than 40 percent of Swedes have access to only one broadband operator.

The agency is calling on the former monopoly telephone company, Telia Sonera, to provide competitors with better access to its network.

PTS says there are several alternatives which would open the single national network to competing operators. The agency also says Telia Sonera charges its rivals too much, as much as Telia Sonera chargers its own consumer customers, which makes it impossible to rivals to charge competitive prices.
