The Essential Mix 18/7: James Zabiela & Booka Shade

This week we present two sets recorded at Glastonbury Festival on the 28th June - James Zabiela and Booka Shade!

Hailing from Southampton, James Zabiela first gained fame back in 2001 when his signature fusion of breaks and house, won him a national bedroom DJ competition, which led to Sasha signing him to his Excession DJ agency. In 2003, together with Paul Sidoli, James set up his own label, Hearing Aid and more recently has been working with Nic Fanciulli on the one+one collaboration.

Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier, AKA Booka Shade are veterans of the German dance scene. Together with DJ T and M.A.N.D.Y., they founded Get Physical Records in 2002, and in May of this year they released their third LP on the label entitled The Sun And The Neon Light.
